Indonesia holds the 17th Indo Livestock and Indo Feed international exhibition and forum, the 14th Indo Fisheries, the 15th Indo Dairy, the 3rd Indo Agrotech, and the 4th Indo Vet for 3 days from 17-19 July 2024 at JCC-Senayan. Indo Livestock is organized by PT Napindo Media Ashatama (Napindo).
The exhibition was opened by the Director General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health of the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Ir. Nasrullah, M.Sc. The opening session was also attended by Deputy II for Food and Agribusiness Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Dida Gardera, ST, M.Sc., Director General of Strengthening the Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products (PDSPKP) of the Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), Dr. Budi Sulistyo, M.Sc, and other supporting associations.
Representing the Minister of Agriculture, Nasrullah, in his opening remarks, the exhibition contributed significantly to stakeholders in the food sector, especially information to support food self-sufficiency. "Our country is the fourth largest country in the world. Therefore, we must guarantee the availability of our food and, more importantly, the food products that are produced in our own country," said Nasrul.

Various companies participate in the Indo Livestock 2024 Expo & Forum, which features 12 country pavilions: Indonesia, the Netherlands, China, Europe, India, Italy, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
Specifically for GEF 6, CFI Indonesia joined the Booth of the Indonesian Fisheries Graduates Association (ISPIKANI) Indonesia, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia, and 5 other Ministries in the Indonesian Pavilion.
GEF 6 CFI Indonesia products displayed at this event are processed fishery products and eco-print batik from Southeast Maluku Regency, East Seram, and Wondama Bay. Knowledge Management (KM) products such as books, bulletins, brochures, leaflets, newsletters, banners, videos, and merchandise are also presented.
In addition to local visitors, the GEF6 booth was visited by foreign participants, including those from China, Bangladesh, Korea, Malaysia, the US, and others. Visitors' responses to the products displayed were positive. Although this exhibition was only a promotional event, visitors' enthusiasm to buy products, especially eco-print batik, was high.

On this occasion, GEF 6 CFI Indonesia, together with ISPIKANI, also presented a talk show with the sub-theme "GEF-6 CFI Indonesia and ISPIKANI Together with Coastal Communities Facilitate Sustainable Fisheries Development". The talk show was presented by Yayan Hernuryadin, Directorate of Fish Resource Management (PSDI) of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries and Technical Coordinator of GEF 6, Indar Wijaya, Secretary General of ISPIKANI, Ahadar Tuhuteru, Knowledge Management & MNE Specialist PMU GEF 6 CFI Indonesia.
Indo Fisheries Talkshow with sub-theme GEF-6 CFI Indonesia and ISPIKANI Together with Coastal Communities Facilitate Sustainable Fisheries Development
The forum disseminated the results of implementing the GEF 6 CFI Indonesia Program related to coastal community development and sustainable fisheries resource management. Yayan said that in order to achieve the objectives of GEF 6 CFI Indonesia, PSDI collaborated with 32 partners to implement the program.
Yayan added that GEF 6 CFI Indonesia's progress has been made through various activities over the past four years. Among them are the preparation of policies and regulations such as the Fisheries Management Plan and Regional Regulations, Conservation Area Reserves, Measured Fishing (PIT), capacity building of various stakeholders, development of fisheries businesses, and activities to build public awareness.
"We encourage the revitalization and expansion of local wisdom in sustainable fisheries resource management such as Sasi in Maluku and West Papua, including the initiation of the Sasi label," said Yayan.

On the same occasion, Ahadar conveyed the progress of the GEF 6 CFI Indonesia program. According to him, several project locations can be used as best practices for developing sustainable fisheries businesses and management, such as in Southeast Maluku and Wondama Bay. In addition to sasi practices, community business groups are also developing processed fish products and eco-print batik as alternative livelihoods.
"We are accelerating the achievement of project targets , such as coastal community development. According to the roadmap, we are currently encouraging partnerships with modern retail and other parties, next year expanding the market network," said Ahadar.
Partnership with ISPIKANI encourages GEF 6 program-fostered groups to market their products more widely. ISPIKANI Secretary General Indar Wijaya said his partnership with KKP is expected to build entrepreneurship among small fisheries business people. "This year, together with GEF 6 fostered business groups, we signed an MoU for business assistance and also facilitated partnerships with modern retail online marketing so that their products can be marketed more widely," said Indar.
The Indo Livestock International Exhibition and Forum closed on Friday, July 19, 2024. The event provided valuable experience for the PMU GEF 6 team to find out the level of community response to the products of the fostered groups and to disseminate information and knowledge from the results of project implementation.
